Michelle is a passionate advocate for disabled people, drawing on her own life and the experiences that other disabled people tell her. She works to eradicate inequities, particularly disability poverty, while her PhD research concentrates on how and why younger disabled adults come to live in long-term care facilities that do not fit their needs. She is able to do this with the support of Victor, her husband, and Leo, her service dog.
